Thank you
To our supporters and those who voted for the Family Party and our candidates, I sincerely thank you for believing in us, and the cause of putting families and traditional values back on the political agenda.
While hugely disappointed with the outcome, I am immensely proud of our team, which has worked tirelessly day and night, week in and week out. People like Jerry Filipaina, Paul Adams and Elias Kanaris are deserving of special mention because their efforts over the past 12 months have been momentous. There are many who have sacrificed much for this cause.
Although the result has not favoured our efforts, a National-led Government is a positive outcome for our country with the trying economic challenges ahead. Only time will tell whether their direction, particularly in the area of family and social policy, will be any different to that of the last nine years under Labour. To that end, The Family Party will watch with much interest.
We look towards the future believing in the inherent potential of each and every New Zealand family. Our enduring hope is that New Zealand's Parliament would once again reflect the Christian values upon which our nation was founded. Again, time will tell.
Whilst our candidates might not have achieved representation ‘this time,' our policies are on the table for the National-led Government to consider, because they are not about us. They are about building our nation with families in mind. And we believe they will add value to any Parliament committed to the best interests of New Zealand families and future generations.
Please keep supporting the Family Party by way of membership and donations. Our board will meet this coming week to review the results and consider the pathway forward, being confident in the knowledge that we have laid a true foundation upon which success can be achieved.
Sincerely,
Richard Lewis
Leader
